Below is a link to the slides from the workshop offered by DSL Director Carl G. Stahmer on April 15, 2016 at the UC Davis Data Science Initiative. The workshop provides an introduction to what can be accomplished using text mining techniques, as well as practicum for word frequency, token distribution, and keyword in context (KWiC) analysis. Non-comprehensive be design, it is designed to give persons with no development and/or programming experience a basic set of skills and R code that can be used to perform foundational text mining operations.
