This graduate level seminar on Bayesian modeling will help students develop practical model-building and model-criticizing skills, build their intuition and raise their confidence in statistical modeling, and make inferences from complicated ecological data. The principle audience is researchers in the natural and social sciences who have had a basic course on regression but nevertheless remain uneasy about statistical thinking. The course is taught by UC Davis Professor Xiaoli Dong (Environmental Science & Policy) and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:10am to 11:30am via Zoom. A copy of Richard McElreath’s new version of Statistical Rethinking will be made available to all registered students. The course number is ECL 298. Questions?
