Research Cluster: Applied Bayesian Statistics

October 11, 2019 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

DataLab’s Applied Bayesian Statistics Research Cluster announcement

During 2019-2020 academic year, the DataLab is convening an Applied Bayesian Statistics cluster to work through an advance copy of the as yet unreleased 2nd edition of former UC Davis Professor Richard McElreath’s Statistical Rethinking. Most meetings cover a single chapter of the book and focus on discussing Bayesian theory and applications (i.e., chapter content and problem sets), with extensions into the participants’ own work.

Fall 2019 meetings are biweekly on Fridays, 3:30-5pm, starting October 11. The first meeting will cover the book’s prologue and chapter 1.

Want to sign up or have questions? Contact the graduate student lead, Nick Lashinksy.

What is a Research Cluster? A Research Cluster is an interdisciplinary group of researchers (undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, post docs, staff, etc.) that meet to learn and apply concepts and methods with an aim towards furthering their research capabilities.
